The island of Koh Tao is located on the east side of the Surat Thani coastline with two neighbouring islands, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. Koh Tao in English means ‘Turtle Island’ for the island’s connection with sea turtles. The island’s shape is also thought to resemble a turtle when viewed from Koh Phangan. Koh Tao is a world-famous diving location with abundant coral reef, both in shallow and deep water and is home to millions of sea creatures.
